Do we need to book? 

It is advisable that you book a table especially on Fridays, the weekends, bank holidays and occasions like the Mothering Sunday, Christmas & New Year. We will do our best to get the table ready for you as soon as or shortly after you arrive. If we are very busy and your table is not ready yet, you are very welcome to get drinks at the bar while waiting.

Do you take groups or parties?

Yes, groups and parties are welcome at Wok n Grill. Over the years, we have served small and large parties for occasions like birthday, anniversary, christening, Christmas, Mother's day, leaving-do, retirement, wedding etc.

For parties of 10 or above, we ask for a refundable deposit of £3 per person for Monday-Saturday lunch or £5 per person for Monday-Saturday dinner and Sunday all day in order to complete the booking. The deposit will be deducted from the final bill or returned in cash on the day - just tell us your preference. We understand that, for various reasons, it may not be always possible for a group to pay a deposit. Should this be the case, please do not hesitate to get in touch. 

A discretionary 10% surcharge will be included in the final bill for parties of 10 or above. Find out more.

You can bring your own cake for celebration. We will present the cake and, for birthday celebration, with the birthday song.

Do you take tour groups?

Do you open on bank holidays? 

Yes. We open all year round except on the Christmas and Boxing days.

What is your price? 

We charge a fixed price per person as below. Drinks are not included in the price.

Families are very welcome to bring their own food for their toddlers for any reason, which obviously there will not be any charge.

Do children eat free at Wok n Grill?

We are sorry we do not have children-eat-free promotion at the moment. But we offer a discounted price for children under 140cm and a special price for toddlers or young children who consume our food. Check out our prices here.

We have a 2-year-old who eats little. Will you charge if he shares my food? 

Unlike à la carte restaurants wherein their prices are based on the dishes being ordered, buffet restaurants like us charge a fixed price per person regardless of the consumption amount. Any customer who consumes our food will be included in the bill. This also means any customer, an adult or a child, who shares food with another customer will be charged accordingly.

For toddlers or young children who consume our food, we offer a special price of £6.00 per person on Monday-Saturday evening and Sunday all day, and £3.00 per person on Monday-Saturday lunch. We believe this is a fair price considering the number and variety of food options available. Families are very welcome to bring their own food for their toddlers for any reason, which obviously there will not be any charge.

My daughter is 9 years old but she was charged full price. Why?

There are three prices according to our price policy: 1) full price, 2) discounted price for children under 140 cm and 3) special price for toddlers or young children. Please note, we do not define children based on their heights. Rather, we offer a discounted price to children under 140 cm. We also do not presume children taller than 140 cm eat more and therefore charge more. Furthermore, we do not discriminate children against their heights whatsoever. For your information, other buffet restaurants also adopt similar price policy. We are happy to provide a list of references if you get in touch.

How long can I stay for my meal?

Similar to other buffet restaurants worldwide, a time limit of two hours for each table will be applied when we are busy. It seems a short time but please be assured that over the years our customers enjoyed their meals with us within the time period.

I can't finish my food. Can I take away?

We are afraid our food is only for consumption within the restaurant. Of course we all love food and hate waste. To minimise food wastage, we suggest taking a small food portion at first and return for more if you like it.

Is there a service charge included in the bill?

No, service charge is not included in the bill. Your tips will be hugely appreciated by our team. A discretionary 10% surcharge will be included in the final bill for parties of 10 or above. 

Wok n Grill is a buffet restaurant wherein customers help themselves from a variety of dishes served on different food counters. Our waiting staff will do the rest: prepare tables, greet and show customers to the tables, take drink orders at the tables, prepare, deliver & serve drinks, remove used plates between servings, remove empty glasses, replace cutlery & napkins whenever needed, provide assistance to customers needing help, deal with customer requests, respond to customer queries regarding specific dietary requirements, etc.  

Same as tips, the discretionary 10% surcharge received will be shared amongst our waiting staff as a reward for their effort and contribution. As it is a discretionary surcharge, our customers have the right to request for it to be removed from the final bill.

Is your menu different for lunch and dinner?

Yes. The range of food served at the buffet counter varies between lunch and dinner. Wok stir fry at the fresh food counter is open for lunch and dinner all days. Teppanyaki grill, seafood, sushi and a wider range of desserts are available on Monday-Saturday evenings only and Sunday all day. All dishes and ingredients are subject to availability.

Do you cater for vegetarians?

Yes, we serve vegetarian dishes. We have aromatic sauce, cucumbers and spring onions which go very well with hot steamed pancakes served at the buffet counter. At the buffet counter, there are stir fried mushrooms, stir fried mixed vegetables, broccoli or fine beans, crispy seaweed, fried noodles and egg fried rice. Vegetarian spring rolls, steamed rice and soups are available on request in the evening and Sunday all day. If you would like to have any of the items available on request, simply speak to a member of our team. At the fresh food bar, there are fresh vegetables, noodles and tofu for wok stir fry with vegetarian sauces available. Vegetarian sushi and accompaniments are available in the evening and Sunday all day. The majority of our desserts contains milk/eggs. Our fresh fruit salad contains no animal products and is available in the evening and Sunday all day. 

We use fresh vegetable (rapeseed) cooking oil.

Whilst we do our best to ensure your food is suitable for vegetarians, our dishes are prepared in areas in which animal products are present. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that dishes prepared in our premises are completely free from animal products due to the possibility of cross-contamination.

Please could you let me know what vegan options you have?

First of all, we have aromatic sauce, cucumbers and spring onions which go very well with hot steamed pancakes served at the buffet counter. At the buffet counter, we have stir fried mushrooms, stir fried mixed vegetables, fine beans or broccoli, crispy seaweed, vegetarian spring rolls and steamed rice. Vegetarian spring rolls, steamed rice and soups are available on request in the evening and Sunday all day. If you would like to have any of the items available on request, simply speak to a member of our team. At the fresh food counter, we have a range of fresh vegetables, tofu and noodles for wok stir fry with vegan-friendly sauces available. In addition, there are vegetarian sushi (except the egg sushi) and accompaniments which are suitable for vegans. Please note sushi and accompaniments are only available in the evening and Sunday all day. To finish the meal, we have fresh fruit salad in the evening and Sunday all day. Special vegan desserts may be available.

Our vegan dishes are labelled with vegan.

Do you have allergen information on the dishes served?

Yes, all our dishes are labelled with allergen and intolerance information. These include 14 major allergens: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, soya and sulphur dioxide. You will see these allergens highlighted on our food labels. If you have any question or concern, please approach a member of staff or email us via wokngrill.cambridge@gmail.com

Is anything on your menu gluten-free?

All dishes and sauces served at Wok n Grill are labelled with allergen and intolerance information, including gluten. Examples of our gluten-free dishes at the buffet counter are aromatic crispy duck/chicken (without pancake wraps), crispy seaweed, Malaysian rendang curry, chicken with pepper & parsley, and stir fried french beans in black bean sauce. At the fresh food bar, there is a wide selection of fresh vegetables, meats and seafood for wok stir fry and teppanyaki grill. We use fresh vegetable (rapeseed) cooking oil. Fresh ingredients are poached with clean boiling water before stir fry. For stir fry seasoning, there are choices of gluten-free soy sauce, gluten-free oyster sauce, salt and pepper. For teppanyaki grill, we have gluten-free roasted red pepper sauce as accompaniment. It is important that you inform the chef on duty if you have an intolerance to gluten. Our gluten-free options also include sushi and accompaniments. Please note many of our desserts contain gluten. Special gluten-free desserts may be available.

Seafood, teppanyaki grill and sushi are available on Monday-Saturday evenings only and Sunday all day.

I’m allergic to nuts. Are any of your dishes nut-free?

We use fresh rapeseed cooking oil (NOT nut oil). Many of our dishes do not contain nuts/peanuts. All dishes and sauces at buffet and fresh food counters are labelled with allergen and intolerance information, including nuts and peanuts. Please note many of our desserts may contain nuts/peanuts. Special nuts-free or peanuts-free desserts may be available.

What dairy-free options do you have?

All food served at Wok n Grill is labelled with allergen and intolerance information, including (dairy) milk.

We are pleased to say that all options on our menu (at the buffet counter, fresh food bar and sushi bar) do not contain milk or dairy ingredients, except the satay sauce (for skewed chicken), roasted red pepper sauce (for grilled seafood), homemade pancake rolls, mussels in garlic butter, and baked salmon with cheese. Please note the majority of our desserts contain dairy ingredients. Special dairy-free desserts may be available.

Where is the nearest car park? 

We have ample free car parks for our customers. Please follow the signs at Winchmore Drive to our car parks. Our main car park will be on your right as you drive in. There is an overflow small car park on the left after the main car park. We have two disabled parking spaces just a few steps away from the entrance.

Do you have wheelchair access? 

Yes. We have wheelchair access from our small car park on the left as you drive in Winchmore Drive, just after the main car park. Please ask for wheelchair access when you make the booking and call us 01223 506248 when you arrive in the car park. We will provide assistance. There is a disabled WC in the restaurant.

Do you have outside seating?

Yes, we have outside seating in our garden during the summer or when the weather is bright and warm enough. The garden has been upgraded in the summer 2016 with professionally designed flower borders. Just come in to the restaurant and ask for alfresco dining, our staff will happily help. For alfresco dining, we will request for payment for food and drinks before your meal.

Is Wok n Grill baby/toddler friendly?

Yes, we surely are! We have highchairs and booster seats for toddlers. Please let us know if you need it when you make the booking. There is a baby changing station in the Ladies. We are happy to heat up your bottles or baby food. Just ask!

Can I bring a pushchair into the restaurant?

A pushchair space at the table can usually be arranged if being requested in advance when booking a table. If a pushchair space has not be requested in advance and we are very busy, we may not have enough space for pushchairs at the table. Should this be the case, we will offer to keep the pushchairs elsewhere within the premises. For babies in the car seats, we can usually arrange for a space at the table. Highchairs and booster seats are available in the restaurant.

Would it be possible to have a special request?

If you have a special request, please let us know when booking a table or in good time and we will endeavour to meet your request at our best effort. For example, we were happy to accept a request from a customer to purchase a bouquet of flowers on her behalf for her mother on the Mothering Sunday.
